Logitech g25 pod OS X

Ahojte,

ma moznost kupit volant Logitech G25, no niesom si celkom isty ci bude dobre fungovat pod OS X.
Mam zakupenu hru Dirt 2, ktoru hravam a prave na to by som chcel volant vyuzivat. Pozeral som google, no nenasiel som nejaku jednodznacu odpoved, tak by som sa chcel spytat ci niekto nema skusenost s tym ci ten volant ide ? Alebo aspon ci niekto pouziva nejaky volant pod OS X.

Ja som v googli nasiel jednoznacnu odpoved za 1 minutu :
“The G25 is indeed supported on the mac, however NOT ALL FEATURES ARE. In my case I’m getting just the normal 200-degrees rotation (rather than full 900-degrees) with the wheel, brake pedal and gas pedal on the pedals and sequential shifting (gear up and gear down) on the shifter. Running Colin McRae Rally Mac.

Here’s what you’re not getting (most probably due to the limited support from the Input Sprockets of Mac OS X):

900-degrees rotation
6-speed H-gate shifting
clutch pedal

These are the 3 things that don’t show up when using Feral’s Input Calibrator. Input Calibrator is what Feral uses to test whether a joystick or wheel is supported. I used this handy little app to at least determine what features were supported on the G25.

I can only speculate that the limited features are due to Apple’s Input Sprockets, since this is the universal, built-in stuff that makes every joystick work on a mac (ever wonder why you never had to install anything?) Unless the game dev specifically makes their own drivers for the G25, I don’t think you’ll be seeing support for the extra nifty features.

Still, the G25 is a fantastic product to buy. I swear… the smell of the leather will get you onto your mac every time you catch a whiff of it! It’s also compatible with a PS3 and with a PS3 you get all the features. I’ve emailed Feral about the G25 and they say they might run their own tests with it… perhaps (wishful thinking) they might even throw in special support for it, rather than rely on Apple’s Input Sprockets.”
